Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small text file a site stores on your device so it can be read back later. Cookies are what let a site remember that you are logged in, or that you already dismissed a message. We use the word here to cover similar technologies too — local storage, session storage, and pixels — since they serve the same purposes and the same controls apply.

Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called first-party. Cookies set by another domain whose code runs on the page are third-party.

Strictly necessary. Required for the service to work. These keep you signed in, maintain session state, remember your security and consent choices, balance load across our servers, and protect forms against automated abuse. The service cannot function without them, so they are not subject to consent.

Analytics. Used inside the product to understand which features are used and to detect issues, so we can improve it. These are measurement only, and the data is associated with your account rather than shared with third parties for their own purposes.

Advertising and cross-site tracking. We do not use these. hegl runs no advertising cookies, no ad-network pixels, and no cookies that track you across unrelated sites, and we do not sell or share personal information for advertising as those terms are defined under GDPR or the CCPA.

The hegl.ai marketing site is deliberately light. It runs no analytics and no advertising technology, so browsing our public pages does not place measurement cookies on your device.

The one third-party technology on these pages is Cloudflare Turnstile, which protects our contact and demo-request forms from automated abuse. Turnstile is set by Cloudflare and stores a short-lived token that records the check was passed. It is strictly necessary — it exists so the form can tell a person from a bot, it does not profile you, and Cloudflare does not use it for advertising. When you sign in to hegl, we set strictly necessary cookies to keep you authenticated, to hold your session, and to remember interface preferences such as which organization you are working in. Clearing these signs you out.

We also record product analytics — which features are used, agent run counts — as described in the Privacy Policy. These are the only non-essential cookies we use. Where the law requires consent before a non-essential cookie is set, we will obtain it before setting one, and you will be able to withdraw it at any time.

Cookies set by a third-party account you connect — for example while completing a provider's OAuth consent screen — are governed by that provider's own cookie policy, not this one.

Session cookies are erased when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a set period so we can recognize your device on a return visit.

Our authentication cookies last for the length of a session or until you sign out. Preference and consent cookies persist so your choices survive a reload. Cloudflare sets its own lifetime for the Turnstile token; see their privacy policy, linked above. For the current duration of any cookie we set, ask us at privacy@hegl.ai and we will tell you.

Every major browser lets you see the cookies stored for a site, delete them, and block new ones:

• Chrome — Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies
• Safari — Settings, then Privacy
• Firefox — Settings, then Privacy & Security
• Edge — Settings, then Cookies and site permissions

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break parts of the service: you will not be able to stay signed in, and the contact forms will not submit. Blocking analytics cookies has no effect on how the product works for you.

We may update this policy as the product changes or as we add or remove a technology. Material changes will be communicated by email or an in-product notice at least 14 days before they take effect, matching the notice period in our Privacy Policy. The latest version is always available at hegl.ai/cookie-policy.
